Hi Ive just replaced my router and I cant reconnect my printer. Ive got the HP app and Ive tried to add the printer. My phone connects to the printer over Bluetooth and I can enter the WiFi password but the setup just hangs at this point. The WiFi signal is strong so I dont know if I just need to default the printer and start again. But I dont know how to default the printer. Any help would be appreciated.

Android 9 uses WPA2 for Wi-Fi encryption.  Make sure your router has that enabled and not WPA3

 

You might also try different SSID for the 2.4 and 5ghz bands.  Same password is OK.  Try connecting the 5 then the 2.4.

 

Your printer may only support wpa or wep.  Get a network report from printer to see what is enabled.

You may have to configure WPA for 2.4 for the printer to work and wpa2 for the 5ghz and the android.  Just guessing.

Thanks for the reply BeemerBiker, I've managed to sort it. I read the instructions that you shared a link for and I used the WPS function in the end to get a connection to the router rather than setting the printer up through the app.
