My HP107 had to be replaced - the centre part of the ON button had come loose.
I had the old one working OK on WiFi but cannot get the new one to work on WiFi, sure I am doing something silly.
It does not recognise the router key here so what does it want?

The printer can work in wireless and wireless direct operation mode. Those are two different operation modes.
I assume you are trying to connect the wireless direct printer to a wireless network (router) that's not going to happen. You need to change the printer to normal wireless ( not wireless direct) and connect it to your network. You can find details in the user manual starting from page 34.
