Hi @DAP1125
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
To connect your HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer to a wireless network using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), you may need to locate the WPS PIN.
Here's how you can find it:
Access WPS Setup on the Printer:
- From the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button to display the Wireless summary.
- Navigate to and select "Settings."
- Choose the "Wi-Fi Protected Setup" option.
- Select "PIN" method.
Display the WPS PIN:
- The printer will generate a WPS PIN on the display screen.
- Enter this PIN on your WPS-enabled router or access point within the specified time frame (usually within two minutes).
Connect to Network:
- Follow the router's instructions to complete the WPS setup.
If your printer doesn’t show the PIN or times out, you can repeat the steps to generate a new one. You can also check out HP’s official video guide for a visual walkthrough.
Let me know if you’re setting this up with a specific router or using the HP Smart app — I can tailor the steps further.
