Cannot find my WPS PIN

To find the WPS PIN for your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M182nw, follow these steps:

Option 1: Print the Network Configuration Page

  1. On the printer control panel, press the Wireless button to open the Wireless menu.
  2. Select Wi-Fi Protected Setup.
  3. Choose PIN.
  4. The printer will generate a WPS PIN and display it on the screen.
  5. You might also be prompted to print the WPS PIN page – do so if offered.

⚠️ Important: The WPS PIN is only valid for 90 seconds, so enter it into your router’s WPS setup page or your device immediately.


Option 2: Use HP Smart App Instead (Recommended)

If WPS PIN setup is proving difficult, you can connect your printer using the HP Smart app:

  1. Download the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  2. Make sure the printer is in Wi-Fi setup mode (reset network settings if needed).
  3. Follow the on-screen steps in the app to detect and connect the printer without needing the WPS PIN.


How to Reset Network Settings (if needed)

To put your printer back in setup mode:

  1. On the control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
  2. Confirm the reset.

Then you can try using WPS or the HP Smart app again.
