HP Smart Tank 675 All-in-One

The printer goes in sleep mode after some time, which is fine. After pressing the resume button, it wakes up and shows ready to take printing, but after giving the command prompt, its show that 'Waiting for printer connection; Please wait for connection or cancel printing'. What to do. Restarting the system doesn't solve for next turn.

@Jilaniaq, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It appears that your HP Smart Tank 675 printer is experiencing issues with maintaining a connection after waking up from sleep mode. Here are several troubleshooting steps to help resolve this issue:

1. Check Printer Connection Settings

Ensure that your printer's wireless settings are correctly configured. You can do this by:

  1. Pressing the Wireless button on the printer to check the wireless status.
  2. Making sure the Wireless light is solid (indicating it is connected to a network).
  3. If the Wireless light is blinking or off, follow the instructions on the control panel or in the manual to reconnect to your network.

2. Reconnect the Printer to the Network

If the printer connection is not stable, reconnecting it to your network might help:

  1. Press the Wireless button and the Information button together to print a wireless test report.
  2. Use the HP Smart app or the printer software to reconfigure the wireless settings if necessary.

3. Verify Sleep Mode Settings

Sometimes sleep mode settings can cause issues with connectivity:

  1. Ensure the printer’s sleep mode settings are configured correctly to prevent disconnects.
  2. Review settings on the control panel or HP Smart app.

4. Update Printer Firmware and Software

Keep your printer’s firmware and software up to date:

  1. Check for firmware updates on the HP support website or HP Smart app.
  2. Update the HP printer software on your computer.

5. Restart Devices

Restarting can clear temporary issues:

  1. Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, wait for 60 seconds, and plug it back in.
  2. Restart your router.
  3. Restart your computer.

6. Reinstall Printer Drivers

In case drivers are corrupted or outdated:

  1. Uninstall the current printer drivers from your computer.
  2. Download and install the latest drivers from the HP support website.

7. Check Network Configuration

Ensure the printer is within range and no network issues are present:

  1. Place the printer close to your router.
  2. Ensure no heavy network traffic which might affect the connection.

I hope this helps.
