Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

We used to have the Scan to Email app installed on our HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One printer. I was notified today that this wasn't working. I took a look at it, and all the web apps are gone.

All that is left is an "update web apps" icon, and when I push that, it says that it can't connect to the server.

I have restored to Factory settings, power cycled - didn't work.

Changed the Wi-Fi networks - didn't work

Connected via Ethernet cord - didn't work

I see that the current firmware was released Feb 2026 - so I'm assuming that is what broke this feature. Am I the only one? Did the web apps get shut down?

Hi @mike5123

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your que

Please be informed that HP has discontinued Web Service Apps like Scan to Email on the OfficeJet Pro 7740, enabling or updating them will no longer work. However, if you want to attempt the standard troubleshooting steps. I would request you to please Install the HP APP and try to do it. https://www.hp.com/us-en/hp-app/overview.html , here’s a clear, detailed guide you can follow:

Enable Web Services

  • Web Services must be enabled for apps to appear.
  • On printer control panel → Settings → Web Services
  • Navigate to Web Services.
  • Follow on-screen instructions to enable.
  • Accept terms if prompted.

Remove and Re-enable Web Services

  • Refreshing Web Services can clear connection errors.
  • On printer control panel → Web Services → Remove Web Services
  • Select Remove Web Services.
  • Restart the printer.
  • Re-enable Web Services by following on-screen prompts.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Firmware updates may fix Web Services issues.
  • On printer control panel → Settings → Printer Maintenance → Update Printer
  • Check for available updates.
  • Install the latest firmware.
  • Restart the printer after update.

Factory Reset.

  • Factory reset clears persistent errors.
  • On printer control panel → Settings → Printer Maintenance → Restore Factory Defaults
  • Select Restore Factory Defaults.
  • Confirm reset.
  • Reconfigure network and Web Services after reset.
