Hi @Bob1279,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer is displaying a message that it cannot connect to web services or that the server is down, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Check Internet Connection
- Ensure that your printer is connected to the internet. You can print a network configuration page from the printer's settings to verify the connection.
2. Restart Your Printer and Router
- Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Restart your Wi-Fi router by unplugging it for about 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.
- Once the router is back online, power on your printer.
3. Update Printer Firmware
- Use the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel to check for firmware updates. Keeping your printer’s firmware up to date can resolve connectivity issues.
4. Re-enable Web Services
- Go to the printer's control panel and navigate to Setup > Web Services.
- If Web Services are turned off, turn them on. If they’re on, try turning them off and then back on.
5. Check Firewall Settings
- Ensure that your network firewall or security settings aren’t blocking the printer's access to the internet.
6. Verify HP Account Status
- If you're using an HP account for web services, ensure that your account is in good standing and that you can log in successfully.
7. Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. It can diagnose and fix many common issues.
8. Reset Network Settings
- If the issue persists, you may want to reset the network settings on your printer. This option is usually found under Network Setup in the printer's menu.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
