Hi @Anil2476,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it is when everything seems to be working perfectly, your printer connects to Wi-Fi, prints locally without issue and yet Web Services setup fails with a “System error, network connection error” message. Let’s walk through the steps to resolve this and get your HP printer connected to the cloud so you can print from anywhere.
HP Web Services Setup – Troubleshooting Steps
1. Confirm Network Type
Web Services require a direct internet connection. If your printer is connected via:
- Guest network, VPN, or mobile hotspot → Web Services may fail.
- USB-only connection → Web Services will not work.
Make sure your printer is connected to a standard home Wi-Fi network with internet access.

2. Restart Web Services
Sometimes the Web Services module needs a reset.
- On the printer control panel, press the Information button to print a Network Configuration Page.
- Open the Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering the printer’s IP address into a browser.
- Go to the Web Services tab > Remove Web Services.
- Restart the printer.
- Return to EWS and click Enable Web Services.
This refreshes the connection and clears any server-side errors.
3. Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode
If the printer was previously connected and the setup mode expired, you may need to re-enable it:
- Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
- Wait for the Wi-Fi light to blink. This means setup mode is active.
- Reconnect using the HP app.
4. Clear Printer Cache via Factory Reset
You mentioned trying a factory reset. Thank you for that. Just to confirm:
- Disconnect power for 60 seconds.
- Reconnect and power on.
- Reattempt Web Services setup via HP Smart app or EWS.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
