HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. I have been unable to set up webscan on my officejet pro 8600 plus all-in-one printer. It keeps saying error: webscan  has been disabled.  I also have not been able to set up web services for remote printing.

@Petlover14, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're encountering an issue with Webscan being disabled and also having trouble setting up Web Services on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. Let's walk through the steps to get both features working.

Step 1: Enable Web Services

Webscan requires Web Services to be enabled. Here's how to do it:

Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Find your printer’s IP address from the printer control panel:
Setup > Network > View Network Summary > IP Address
  • Open a web browser and type the IP address into the address bar (e.g., http://192.168.1.100).

Enable Web Services:

  • In the EWS, go to the Web Services tab.
  • Click Enable Web Services or Turn On.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Step 2: Enable Webscan

Once Web Services are enabled:

  1. In the EWS, click on the Scan tab.
  2. Select Webscan from the left menu.
  3. Click Settings or Administrator Settings.
  4. Check the box to Enable Webscan.
  5. Click Apply or Save Settings.

Now you should be able to scan directly from your browser using Webscan.

Additional Tips:

  • Make sure your printer firmware is up to date: Official HP® Support
  • If Web Services fail to enable, try restarting your printer and router, then attempt the setup again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
