Certain websites that I try to print from, I get a “rendering” message and it won’t print.

Hi @Wen27,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Great question! When you see “Rendering” in the print dialog or printer queue, it means your computer or printer is processing the document into a printable format (usually converting web content like HTML, CSS, and images into a page layout the printer understands).

Why It Happens

  • Websites often use complex layouts, dynamic content, or embedded scripts.
  • The print system needs extra time to render (convert) that content into a static image or PDF before sending it to the printer.

Why It Might Get Stuck

  • Large or graphics-heavy pages.
  • Browser or printer driver issues.
  • Insufficient system resources or outdated drivers.

How to Fix It

  1. Try “Print as PDF” first, then print the PDF.
  2. Update your printer driver from HP Support.
  3. Clear the browser cache or use a different browser.
  4. For stubborn sites, use Reader Mode or copy content into Word before printing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
