What is Wi-Fi Direct?

My printer has just printed a page headed. WiFi direct and given me a password. I have no clue why and what I’m supposed to do with a password that lasts 2 mins. 

all I want to do is sit in my room and print form my printer without getting up and going to the printer. 

help!!!

Wi-Fi Direct is a method that uses your printer's wireless radio to connect to your computer without the use of a standard network and router.

Read Chapter 3 - Connect your printer - Starting on Page 19

and

Wireless Direct is explained starting on Page 24

If you are using standard Wireless, that is, Wireless that connects the printer to your network and router,

and

If you are not using Wi-Fi Direct,

Consider shutting OFF Wi-Fi Direct .
