My laserjet pro MFP 225dw has begun asking for a password to continue. It was defaulted to username for my router. When I input the password for the router, I am given Invalid Password!
Why has it started asking for a password and what is the source of the username and password?
I recently bought a Windows 11 computer. Would that be a reason I now need a password? If so, how do I remove, uncheck or whatever fix the issue?
Thank you
mojr

Thank you Shlomil. I don't recall ever setting a password for the printer. Could this be that Windows 11 set this up without my knowledge?
Also, the password it requested was the pin number used to access Windows 11. Is this correct and can I eliminate this step?
I also am trying to set up a network folder for this computer and everything I've found online has not worked. Is there some information available from HP that can solve this issue?
Kindest Regards,
Mojr

Hi mojr,
A printer asks for password only if its been set from its software or homepage as an Administrator password, any such would not be set by itself.
admin would always be the user (all lower case) among any selected password.
Please start by typing your wireless password, I do see quite often were users incorrectly type the wireless password as an admin password while trying to connect a printer.
I would also suggest trying possible passwords you may had selected and verify if any other family member haven't made this change by setting a password.
Please let me know how it goes,
Shlomi
