Hi @PopeyeGRS,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) PIN is used for connecting your HP Color LaserJet MFP M283fdw to your wireless network. Here are step-by-step instructions on how to find the WPS PIN and use it for setting up your printer:

1. Access Printer’s Control Panel

  1. Turn on the Printer: Ensure your HP Color LaserJet MFP M283fdw is powered on.
  2. Go to the Control Panel: On the printer’s control panel, you will find the touchscreen display.

2. Access Network Setup

  1. Open the Network Menu:
    • On the touchscreen, tap the Setup icon (which looks like a gear or wrench).
    • Navigate to Network Setup or Network (the exact wording might vary).

3. Locate the WPS PIN Option

Select Wireless Settings:

  • Tap on Wireless or Wireless Settings.
  • Look for an option related to Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) or WPS PIN.

Find WPS PIN:

  • Tap on WPS PIN or similar. The printer will display a WPS PIN on the screen.
  • This PIN is what you'll use to connect the printer to your wireless network via WPS.

4. Use the WPS PIN to Connect

Access Your Router’s WPS Setup:

  • Go to your Wi-Fi router and press the WPS button (consult your router’s manual if you’re unsure where it is).

Enter the WPS PIN:

  • On the router’s configuration page, enter the WPS PIN displayed on your printer’s control panel.

Complete the Setup:

  • Follow the on-screen instructions on your printer to complete the wireless setup.
  • Once the connection is established, your printer should be connected to your Wi-Fi network.

5. Verify Connection

Print Network Configuration Page:

  • You can print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel to verify that it is connected to your network.

Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure that the printer is showing a connected status on the control panel.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
