@Susan9340, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're trying to find the printer password for your HP DeskJet 4200 All-in-One Printer series, here are a few common scenarios and steps to help you:

Looking for the Wi-Fi Direct or Wireless Password

If you're trying to connect a device to your printer via Wi-Fi Direct or wireless network, the password is usually printed on a label or can be accessed via the printer settings.

Steps to Find the Wi-Fi Direct Password:

Print a Network Configuration Page:

  • Press and hold the Information (i) button on the printer until the report prints.
  • Look for Wi-Fi Direct Name and Wi-Fi Direct Password on the printout.

Check the Printer Label:

  • Some models have a sticker on the back or bottom of the printer with the Wi-Fi Direct password.

Via HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your phone or PC.
  • Select your printer > Go to Advanced Settings > Wi-Fi Direct to view or change the password.

Accessing the Embedded Web Server (EWS) Password

If you're trying to access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) and it asks for a password:

  • Try using admin as the username and leave the password blank.
  • If that doesn’t work, the password may have been set during initial setup or by an admin.

To reset it:

  • Restore the printer to factory defaults:
    • Press and hold the Cancel (X) and Wireless buttons together for about 5 seconds until the printer restarts.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
