Hi @Josiebee50,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Since you were subscribed to HP Instant Ink for over five years, your printer was likely using Instant Ink cartridges, which are subscription-based and stop working once the subscription is canceled.
Replace the Ink Cartridges
- Instant Ink cartridges are locked after cancellation and will no longer work.
- You need to purchase and install standard HP 63 or HP 63XL cartridges (genuine HP ink, not Instant Ink).
Power Cycle Your Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Reset the Printer (if it still doesn’t work)
- Factory Reset:
- Tap the Setup icon (wrench or gear symbol) on the printer screen.
- Navigate to Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
- Confirm reset and restart the printer.
Reconnect to WiFi (if needed)
- If the printer is not connected to WiFi after resetting, reconnect it to your network:
- Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Setup Wizard
- Follow on-screen instructions to reconnect.
Note:
- If you have trouble printing after replacing the cartridges, try reinstalling the printer drivers on your computer.
- If the issue persists, check the HP Smart App for any error messages.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
