Let me start off by saying I hate this printer. Never in my life have I owned such an unreliable POS in my life and I have owned multiple HP printers over the years. I spend hours setting up this printer, uninstalling, reinstalling, uninstalling again, and again to no avail. It works for 24 hours then stops printing every single time. It's connected to my wireless network, I setup a static IP address, doesn't matter, it's done this since day one and no one at HP ever gave a crap. For the one hundredth time I uninstalled the printer two nights ago and reinstalled the full program of drivers, after doing a complete uninstall and I mean a complete uninstall. Wow it worked great, for 24 hours, now it's back to being a boat anchor. Why in God's name does this POS continue to loss the ability to communicate with my PC, which is also HP. How can it not communicate with my PC when both it and my PC are connected to the same network? Forgive my attitude but if you were the one dealing with this constantly, you'd feel the same way. I've looked at and tried EVERY single solution on the HP website - nothing works! I am at wits end with this thing. Btw, My Brother MFC-J650DW has worked perfectly since the day I installed it on the same PC using the same network connectivity!

Deja Vu all over again. Well, on Friday night I wasted another two hours uninstalling, etc. and once again, the printer worked great  - for 48 hours. Here it is Sunday night/Monday morning and I'm getting the exact same communication I've gotten for the life of this printer. WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PRINTER!!!!! SURELY SOMEONE OUT THERE HAS A SOLUTION, OTHER THAN THOWING IT OUT THE WINDOW AND REPLACING IT WITH A BROTHER, WHICH I KNOW WILL WORK.

@Speedwagon01, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you are facing intermittent connectivity issues with the printer. Let us try these steps:

Restart the wireless router, the printer, and the PC

On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore network settings

Go back to Network > Wireless > Wireless setup wizard and select your network.

  • Make sure the printer and the Mac are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.

Monitor the connectivity between the devices, if the issue persists, let us assign a static IP address to the printer.

  • Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
  • Type the IP address at the top of your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
  • If you get any security notification, click on show details/advanced and 'proceed to this website'.
  • Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
  • Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
  • Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
  • Click on the radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
