Hi @Junaluska,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your new HP printer is feeding paper through and ejecting blank pages, it can be caused by a few different factors, especially during the initial setup. We'll need a little more information to pinpoint the cause.

Could you please let us know:

  • What is the exact model of your HP printer?
  • Is the printer printing blank pages when you print from your computer, or does it also print blank pages when making a copy directly from the printer?
  • Is this the first time you're setting up the printer?
  • Are you using the original HP cartridges that came with the printer?

In the meantime, please check the following:

  1. Verify the cartridges
    • Open the cartridge access door.
    • Make sure all cartridges are installed in the correct color slots and are fully seated.
    • Confirm that all orange protective tape has been removed from each cartridge. Even a small piece left on the cartridge can prevent ink from flowing.

  2. Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Report
    • From the printer's control panel, print a Print Quality Report (if available for your model).
    • If the report is also blank, this helps determine whether the issue is with the ink delivery or the printer's initialization.

  3. Run the printhead cleaning utility.
    • From the printer's Maintenance or Tools menu, run Clean Printhead once.
    • After the cleaning completes, print another test page.

  4. Check the paper and print settings.
    • Make sure the correct paper size and paper type are selected in the print settings.
    • Try printing an internal page, such as a Printer Information Report or Configuration Report, directly from the printer to see if it prints correctly without using the computer.

Once you share the printer model and let us know whether copies and internal reports are also coming out blank, we'll be able to determine whether this is a setup issue, a cartridge or printhead issue, or something else, and guide you with the next steps. We're here to help get your new printer printing properly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
