Hi @Belle730,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that your HP printer setup is asking for the Wi‑Fi password. You can find it in these common places:

1) On your router:

Look at the label on the bottom or side of your router. The password may be listed as:

  • Wireless Security Key/Password

  • Wi‑Fi Password

  • Network Password

  • Network Key

  • Next to the Wireless Network Name or SSID

2) On a Windows computer:

If your Windows PC is already connected to that Wi‑Fi network:

  1. Open Wi‑Fi Settings

  2. Click Change adapter options

  3. Right-click your wireless network and select Status

  4. Click Wireless Properties

  5. Open the Security tab

  6. Select Show characters

3) On a Mac:

You can use Passwords or Keychain Access:

  • Open Passwords, select Wi‑Fi, then choose your network name

  • Or open Keychain Access, select System, open your Wi‑Fi network, and select Show password

4) On Android:

On Android 10 or later:

  1. Open the Wi‑Fi menu

  2. Tap Saved networks

  3. Select your network

  4. Tap Share

  5. Enter your device password or PIN

  6. The Wi‑Fi password appears under the QR code

5) If your printer is asking for a WPS PIN instead:

Some HP printers show a WPS PIN during setup. Enter the PIN shown on the printer control panel or on the setup information sheet. This PIN usually expires quickly, so enter it promptly.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
