I need to change the Wifi address that my printer uses to connect

I understand you want to change the Wi-Fi network that your HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe Printer uses to connect on a Mac running macOS 12.0 Monterey, follow these steps:

Step 1: Prepare Your Printer

  1. Power on the Printer: Ensure your printer is powered on.
  2. Reset Network Settings: If your printer is currently connected to a different Wi-Fi network, reset its network settings. To do this:
    • Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the Attention light blinks.

Step 2: Connect the Printer to a New Wi-Fi Network

Download HP Smart App:

  • If you don’t already have it, download and install the HP Smart app from the Mac App Store.

Open HP Smart App:

  • Launch the HP Smart app on your Mac.

Add Your Printer:

  • In the HP Smart app, click the Add Printer button or the Plus icon.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to add your HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe Printer.

Connect to Wi-Fi: HP printer setup (Wi-Fi Direct)

  • The HP Smart app will search for available printers. Select your printer from the list. 
  • When prompted, select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

Step 3: Complete the Setup

  1. Follow On-Screen Instructions:
    • Continue following the on-screen instructions in the HP Smart app to complete the Wi-Fi setup.
    • Once connected, the printer should print a confirmation page indicating it is connected to the new Wi-Fi network.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Printer Not Found: If the printer is not found during the setup, ensure it is within range of your Wi-Fi network and that there are no physical obstructions.
  • Restart Devices: Restart both your printer and your Mac, then try the setup process again.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app.  Update the firmware on an HP printer
