Hi @lightman28,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you want to change the Wi-Fi network that your HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe Printer uses to connect on a Mac running macOS 12.0 Monterey, follow these steps:
Step 1: Prepare Your Printer
- Power on the Printer: Ensure your printer is powered on.
- Reset Network Settings: If your printer is currently connected to a different Wi-Fi network, reset its network settings. To do this:
- Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the Attention light blinks.
Step 2: Connect the Printer to a New Wi-Fi Network
Download HP Smart App:
- If you don’t already have it, download and install the HP Smart app from the Mac App Store.
Open HP Smart App:
- Launch the HP Smart app on your Mac.
Add Your Printer:
- In the HP Smart app, click the Add Printer button or the Plus icon.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add your HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe Printer.
Connect to Wi-Fi: HP printer setup (Wi-Fi Direct)
- The HP Smart app will search for available printers. Select your printer from the list.
- When prompted, select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
Step 3: Complete the Setup
- Follow On-Screen Instructions:
- Continue following the on-screen instructions in the HP Smart app to complete the Wi-Fi setup.
- Once connected, the printer should print a confirmation page indicating it is connected to the new Wi-Fi network.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Printer Not Found: If the printer is not found during the setup, ensure it is within range of your Wi-Fi network and that there are no physical obstructions.
- Restart Devices: Restart both your printer and your Mac, then try the setup process again.
- Update Firmware: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app. Update the firmware on an HP printer
