After trying many times to get a reliable wifi connection to print from my Dell computer, using the HP Smart app, I finally solved the problem (inadvertently).  Among the troubleshooting steps was the suggestion to uninstall the HP Smart app and then reinstall it.  I successfully uninstalled it but it would not reinstall, even after restarting my computer.  So I just let Windows 11 install and control my printer via directwifi and it works fine.  Who knew?
