Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have tried so many times that I've lost count to use my printer wirelessly again. I was able to in college, but my internet after college didn't have a separate 2.5 and 5G network. So, I didn't use it then. I've now switched providers and have separate networks. I am able to join the network from both my computer and my phone. However, it says that the security settings are wrong when trying to connect. The authentication type and encryption are highlighted on the Wireless Network Test Results. I know the password I'm putting in is correct, but I think the settings for the network are wrong and I do not know how to edit this.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • What's the Wi-Fi light status on the Printer(Blinking or Steady)?
  • Could you share the screen where it's asking for the password?
  • Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? If yes, make sure the dual-band has different SSIDs for 2.4G and 5G networks.

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

  • To prepare your printer for a wireless connection, restart the printer, computer, and router.
  • Turn the printer off, and then wait 10 seconds.
  • Disconnect the printer power cord from the printer.
  • Turn off the computer or the device you are trying to print from.
  • Connect the printer power cord to the printer, and then turn on the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from your wireless router, and then wait 10 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the router. Wait until Internet service is restored. Internet service is interrupted while the router is off.
  • Turn on the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

The WiFi light is blinking steadily.

I attached the picture where it's asking for WiFi settings, and it pulled them automatically from my computer.

Yes, the WiFi has separate 2.4G and 5G networks with different SSIDs and passwords.

Thank you for posting back.

This printer supports WPA encryption, check if the router is on the same encryption method. If using WEP or WPA-PSK+FT change it to WPA-PSK

And, also you can find the pin or password below the router.

Keep me posted!
