My OfficeJet Pro 8024 printer has turned Wifi direct off and it will not turn back on. When I follow the instructions on the printer it tells me to touch print guide but when i touch that nothing opens or happens.
I have done a hard reset and have reconnected it to the wifi but it still will not turn on Wifi Direct so I cannot print without using a cable to connect to the printer.
How do i get Wifi direct to turn back on?

W-Fi Direct, that is, connecting the printer to your device without the use of a Router, can be used in addition to a standard Wireless connection to your router controlled network.
Open and Read:
User Guide - HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 Series
Page 128 - Chapter 7 - Network setup
The instructions in the user manual do say you need to have (already) installed the full driver printer software to use Wi-Fi Direct.
The full driver printer software is available for supported Operating System / versions.
This "software must be installed" requirement generally implies that your Operating System is a supported version of Windows or perhaps MacOS and that there is a "full driver" software option available.
HP Smart might work with Wi-Fi Direct, though if it does so, much of the functionality of the application will not be available. Why? Unlike standard Wireless used in a router controlled network, Wi-Fi Direct does not support connection to the Internet.
