HP DeskJet 2630 All-in-One Printer

I recently had Virgin fast fibre installed but my HP 2600 printer shows as offline and doesn’t appear in the WiFi network list.   It was fine before with TalkTalk.   I’ve tried all the suggested combinations of pressing the Wireless and Cancel buttons.  I’ve left the printer unplugged,  deletes and reinstalled the app, but nothing works.

Any advice much appreciated!

Hi @ABdevon ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you have changed in your internet service provider (ISP) from TalkTalk to Virgin might have disrupted the connection between your HP DeskJet 2630 printer and your WiFi network.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  • Check WiFi Settings: Make sure your WiFi network is functioning properly and that other devices can connect to it without any issues.
  • Restart Router and Printer: Turn off your router and printer. Wait for a few minutes, then turn them back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Check WiFi Network Compatibility: Ensure that your printer is compatible with the WiFi frequency band used by your Virgin router. Most modern routers support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. Your printer might only support 2.4GHz, so ensure your router is broadcasting on that band as well.
  • Reset Printer Network Settings: You can try resetting the network settings on your HP DeskJet 2630 printer to factory defaults. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
  • Reconfigure WiFi Settings on Printer: Follow the steps to reconfigure the WiFi settings on your printer. Usually, this involves accessing the printer's control panel menu and navigating to the wireless settings section to connect to your new WiFi network.
  • HP Smart App: Use the HP Smart App to set up your printer's WiFi connection again. The app can guide you through the process and help troubleshoot any connection issues.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates include fixes for connectivity issues. HP DeskJet 2630 All-in-One Printer Software and Driver

Thanks so much for your advice. Unfortunately nothing suggested works, I’ve tried  everything but the printer will not connect.  The WiFi light flashes and the screen shows full signal.  I’ve tried through the app but it just says not connected.    I think I’m going to try to buy another printer!   It’s very frustrating because it was fine with my previous TalkTalk connection.
