Hi @Linz66 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the WiFi light on your HP DeskJet 2710e All-in-One Printer is flashing and it’s not connecting to WiFi, follow these troubleshooting steps:
1. Restart Devices
- Printer: Turn it off, unplug it from the power source, wait for 1 minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Router/Modem: Restart your router by unplugging it for 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in.
- Computer/Phone: Restart the device you're using for setup.
2. Check WiFi Requirements
- Ensure your WiFi is set to 2.4 GHz, as many printers do not support 5 GHz.
- Disable the WiFi 6 (802.11ax) setting on your router if enabled.
- Ensure your WiFi network is not hidden.
3. Reset Network Settings on the Printer
- Press and hold the WiFi button and the Power button on the printer for 5 seconds.
- The WiFi light will start blinking, indicating the printer is in WiFi setup mode.
4. Reconnect Using the HP Smart App HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
- Ensure the HP Smart app is installed on your computer or mobile device.
- Download it from HP Smart for Windows or the app store on your phone.
- Open the HP Smart app and select Set up a new printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your WiFi.
5. Verify Printer and Network Connection
- After the setup, check if the WiFi light is solid, indicating a successful connection.
- Print a Network Configuration Report:
- Press and hold the Information button on the printer until all control panel lights turn on, then release it. The report will print.
6. Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Wrong WiFi Password: Double-check the WiFi password you're entering during setup.
- Signal Strength: Place the printer close to the router during setup to ensure a strong signal.
- Firewall/Antivirus: Temporarily disable them during setup as they might block the connection.
7. Manually Assign an IP Address
If the printer connects to the network but is still not detected:
- Open the router's web interface and check the printer's assigned IP address.
- Enter the IP address into a browser to access the printer's settings.
- Configure a static IP to ensure stability.
8. Reset Printer to Factory Defaults (Optional)
- Press and hold the Power button and the Cancel button for 3 seconds to reset the printer.
