Hi @Linz66 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the WiFi light on your HP DeskJet 2710e All-in-One Printer is flashing and it’s not connecting to WiFi, follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Restart Devices

  • Printer: Turn it off, unplug it from the power source, wait for 1 minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Router/Modem: Restart your router by unplugging it for 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in.
  • Computer/Phone: Restart the device you're using for setup.

2. Check WiFi Requirements

  • Ensure your WiFi is set to 2.4 GHz, as many printers do not support 5 GHz.
  • Disable the WiFi 6 (802.11ax) setting on your router if enabled.
  • Ensure your WiFi network is not hidden.

3. Reset Network Settings on the Printer

  • Press and hold the WiFi button and the Power button on the printer for 5 seconds.
  • The WiFi light will start blinking, indicating the printer is in WiFi setup mode.

4. Reconnect Using the HP Smart App HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

  1. Ensure the HP Smart app is installed on your computer or mobile device.
  2. Open the HP Smart app and select Set up a new printer.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your WiFi.

5. Verify Printer and Network Connection

  • After the setup, check if the WiFi light is solid, indicating a successful connection.
  • Print a Network Configuration Report:
    • Press and hold the Information button on the printer until all control panel lights turn on, then release it. The report will print.

6. Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Wrong WiFi Password: Double-check the WiFi password you're entering during setup.
  • Signal Strength: Place the printer close to the router during setup to ensure a strong signal.
  • Firewall/Antivirus: Temporarily disable them during setup as they might block the connection.

7. Manually Assign an IP Address

If the printer connects to the network but is still not detected:

  • Open the router's web interface and check the printer's assigned IP address.
  • Enter the IP address into a browser to access the printer's settings.
  • Configure a static IP to ensure stability.

8. Reset Printer to Factory Defaults (Optional)

  • Press and hold the Power button and the Cancel button for 3 seconds to reset the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
