Hello @Mac258 ,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

This is a very common situation.
When a printer is packed away for months and the Wi-Fi/router is changed, the printer still remembers the old network, so it cannot connect to the new one.

Step 1: Restore Network Settings on the printer

This clears the old Wi-Fi details.

If your printer has a touchscreen:

  1. Power ON the printer

  2. Go to Settings ⚙️

  3. Select Network / Wireless

  4. Choose Restore Network Settings or Reset Network

  5. Confirm

The blue wireless light should start blinking

If your printer does NOT have a touchscreen:

  1. Turn the printer ON

  2. Press and hold Cancel (X) + Wireless 📶 together

  3. Hold for 5–10 seconds

  4. Release when the blue light starts blinking

Reconnect printer to the new Wi-Fi

Use HP Smart app (recommended)

  1. Install HP Smart on your computer or phone

  2. Open the app

  3. Click + Add Printer or Set up a new printer

  4. Select your new Wi-Fi network

  5. Enter the new Wi-Fi password

Wait until it says Connected

Step 3: Test print

  • Print a test page from HP Smart

  • Or print from Notepad / Notes

Hope this will resolve your issue.
