@Puspendu-, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're facing with Wi-Fi Direct showing "Channel 0" on your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3545 e-All-in-One Printer is likely due to a firmware glitch or incorrect wireless settings. Here's how you can resolve it:

Power Cycle and Reset Network Settings

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • On the printer control panel:
    • Go to Settings > Wireless > Restore Network Defaults.
    • Confirm the reset.
  • Re-enable Wi-Fi Direct:
    • Go to Settings > Wireless > Wi-Fi Direct > Turn On.
    • Check if the channel now shows a valid number (e.g., Channel 6 or 11).

Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause Wi-Fi Direct issues. To update:

  • Visit the official HP support page:
    Official HP® Support
  • Download and install the latest firmware update.
  • Restart the printer and check Wi-Fi Direct settings again.

Manual Channel Configuration (if available)

  • Go to Settings > Wireless > Wi-Fi Direct > Advanced Settings.
  • Look for an option to set the channel manually (e.g., Channel 6 or 11).
  • Save and exit.

If Issue Persists:

  • Try connecting via your regular wireless network instead of Wi-Fi Direct.
  • Alternatively, use a USB connection for printing until Wi-Fi Direct is restored.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

@Puspendu-, Thanks for the update. Since you've already tried resetting the network settings and there's no "Advanced Option" in the Wi-Fi Direct menu on the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3545, the next best step is to update the printer firmware, which can resolve Wi-Fi Direct channel issues like "Channel 0".

How to Update Firmware for HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3545

Visit the official HP support page for your printer:
HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3545 Drivers & Firmware

On the page:

  • Select your operating system if not auto-detected.
  • Look under the "Firmware" section.
  • If a firmware update is available, download it.

Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware. Make sure:

  • The printer is powered on and connected via USB.
  • You do not turn off the printer during the update.

Alternative Workaround

If firmware update is not available or doesn't fix the issue:

  • Use USB connection or connect via your home Wi-Fi network instead of Wi-Fi Direct.
  • You can also try printing via HP Smart app using regular wireless setup.

I hope this helps!

If my response resolves your issue, please click “Accepted Solution” to help others find the answer. Also, don’t forget to click the “Yes” button to say thanks!

Take care and have a great day.
