Hello
since moving to a new network it somehow broke my printer's Wifi-Direct feature.
Whenever I am trying to connect to the printer's network DIRECT-43-HP-xxx it asks me for the password and after typing in the correct password either in Wifi-Direct automatic or manual setting I cannot connect and get asked for the password again. Somehow the printer does not allow connections to its Wifi-Direct network.
I did not have this issue before and everything worked well with all my devices. Now I cannot connect from at least one device.
Unplugging and waiting a few minutes did not help and even a factory reset did not seem to help.
Maybe someone encountered this issue before and can provide some help.
Thanks in advance
Max

Hi @Max-194,
I'd like to help!
Try the below suggestions -
Touch the Wi-Fi Direct icon to open the Wi-Fi Direct settings menu to get the name and password.
If the issue persists, perform a network restore on the printer
On the printer, select Restore Network Defaults from the Wireless, Settings
, or Restore Settings menu.
Change the wifi direct password-
-
Connect your computer or mobile device or computer to the printer over Wi-Fi Direct.
-
In an internet browser address bar, type 192.168.223.1, and then press Enter.
-
If a website security certificate displays, click Continue to open the printer's EWS.
-
Select the Network tab, and then click or tap Status.
-
If you are prompted to go to a secure HTTPS-enabled webpage, click or tap OK or Redirect to HTTPS.
-
If a Your connection is not private message displays, click or tap Advanced, and then click or tap Proceed to [Printer IP address].
-
On the Wi-Fi Direct page, click or tap Edit Settings.
-
Change the desired settings, and then click or tap Apply.
Keep me posted.

Thank you for the quick reply!
Your provided solution does not work. I still cannot connect to my HP's Wifi Direct with any device.
I did multiple network restores and nothing succeeded.
Seeking further support.

The printer shows up with its given name when searching for it.
I am also able to change the password on the EWS page, but whenever I am trying to connect to it from any device, it repeatedly asks me for the WPA2, although I type in the correct password every time.
I type in the correct network password hit connect, it takes a couple of moments and I am getting asked for the password again.
I was never able to establish a working connection over Wifi Direct.

We can perform a factory defaults on the printer to resolve the issue
- The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
- I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
- In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
