i got the HP Deskjet 2700e for college and since we're not allowed to connect printers wirelessly in our dorms, I decided to try using Wifi Direct. I followed the steps and I was able to connect to the wifi direct network on my laptop but what do I do after that? How do I print? I have to choose a destination when I want to print something, and on the dropdown list it doesn't show anything about the wifi direct. I also tried adding the device on "printers and scanners" in settings, but it doesn't show up (I clicked on "show wifidirect printers" and it shows other wifi direct printers nearby but not mine).

Hi,
Be aware that HP Plus printers must be configured by the HP Smart app and require internet access for its configuration, you would need to decline the HP Plus offer to use the printer without internet access.
I suggest setting up the printer at home with your home internet access and decline the 6 months ink benefit and additional warranty for two years (HP Plus) which requires internet access to operate.
Once you are connected to the Wi-Fi Direct network you would need to install the printer software for a wireless connection, to configure the printer and scanner on your printer:
