HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw

My printer has worked for 8 years. Last week it couldn't print (wireless) from my computers, iPhones or iPad .  Wireless NetworkTest  Report says WPA authentication changed from default. This began after installing a new ATT wifi gateway. Although the troubleshooting guide indicates that that this problem is critical and action is required, I am unable to find out how to restore the default WPA authentication on my printer.  Restoring default settings doesn't seem to have any effect.

Hi @Plamar,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like the change in your WiFi network, specifically the WPA authentication settings, is causing the printing issue on your HP LaserJet Pro 200 Color MFP M276nw. Here are steps you can take to resolve the issue.

Reconfigure Wireless Settings on the Printer:

Access the Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Open a web browser on a computer that is connected to the same network as your printer.
  • Enter the printer's IP address in the browser's address bar. You can find the IP address on the Wireless Network Test Report.

Navigate to the Wireless Settings:

  • Once you're in the EWS, look for the "Network" or "Wireless" tab.
  • You might need to enter a username and password (default is often admin/admin).

Update Wireless Settings:

  • Locate the wireless settings and update the WPA authentication information to match your new WiFi settings.
  • Ensure that the SSID (WiFi network name) and password match your new ATT WiFi gateway settings.

Apply Changes:

  • Save the changes and restart the printer.

Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults:

Physical Reset:

  • On the printer's control panel, go to the "Setup" menu.
  • Look for an option like "Restore Defaults" or "Factory Reset."
  • Confirm the action and allow the printer to reset.

Web-Based Reset:

  • In the EWS, go to the "Security" or "Settings" tab.
  • Look for an option to reset to factory defaults.

Note:

  • Be cautious with a factory reset, as it will erase all custom settings, including network configurations.

Reconnect the Printer to WiFi:

Use the Control Panel:

  • On the printer, navigate to the wireless setup menu.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect the printer to your WiFi network.

WPS (WiFi Protected Setup):

  • If your new ATT WiFi gateway supports WPS, you can use it to simplify the connection process.

Update Printer Firmware:

Visit HP Support:

  • Check the HP official website for your printer model.
  • Download and install the latest firmware for your printer.

Firmware Update via EWS:

  • In the EWS, look for a firmware update option and follow the on-screen instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for the response. If my printer will not connect to wifi after installing the new modem/router, how am I supposed to enter the printer’s IP address into a desktop that is connected to the same network as the printer (since the printer is not connected to a network)? When I print the wireless network test report I am not given an IP address.
