Hello Community, I need your help to setup the wifi in my printer.
The wifi icon is missing in printer control panel.
I tried with resetting both the network setting and restore to factory defaults, still no luck.
Also I did the connected to console with https://<printer_ip>/ Setting > Security > Administrator Setting > I don't see the wireless option at all.
Am I missing anything, Can someone please help here?
Thanks!

Hi @chandratu2,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue issue of the missing Wi-Fi icon on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer, follow these steps:
1. Check Wireless Button and Settings
Ensure that the wireless button on the printer is turned on. Sometimes, the Wi-Fi icon might be missing because the wireless functionality is turned off.
2. Update Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
Ensure that your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Outdated firmware can cause various issues, including missing icons.
- Download and Install the Latest Firmware:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Enter your printer model (HP OfficeJet Pro 9015).
- Download the latest firmware and follow the installation instructions.
3. Reset Network Settings
Since you already tried this step, ensure it was done correctly:
- On the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, then touch the Wireless icon.
- Touch the Settings icon.
- Touch Network Setup.
- Touch Restore Network Settings.
4. Factory Reset
Since you've already tried restoring to factory defaults, ensure this process was completed correctly:
- On the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, then touch the Setup icon.
- Touch Printer Maintenance.
- Touch Restore.
- Touch Restore Factory Defaults, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.
5. Check Administrator Settings via Web Console
It seems you have checked this, but make sure you're looking in the right place:
- Open a web browser and type the printer IP address to open the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
- Click on the Settings tab.
- Click Security.
- Click Administrator Settings.
- Ensure that the Wireless option is not disabled. If it is, enable it and save the settings.
6. Printer Control Panel Lock
Ensure that the control panel is not locked or restricted by an administrator:
- On the printer control panel, go to Settings.
- Go to Security.
- Check if there are any restrictions that might hide the Wi-Fi icon.
7. Reboot Printer
Sometimes a simple reboot can solve the issue:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the printer.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.

Hello @Gaya1239,
Thank you so much for your valuable input.
I did try all the proposed solutions you have mentioned including firmware upgrade. But unfortunately nothing worked out.
I am still not able to see wifi icon in the dashboard.
I do connect to printer via http://<printer_ip>/ and still I don’t see wireless options under Security > Administrator setting.
Please do let me know, If I have to do anything else.
Thanks!
