Hi @Honestly698

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that you are experiencing connectivity issues with your HP printer. While I note your concern regarding the $60 charge, I will treat this as valuable feedback and ensure it is shared with the relevant team.

In the meantime, I kindly request you to follow the steps below to help resolve the issue:

Restart Devices

  • Power off your printer, router, and computer.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Turn on the router first, then the printer, then your computer.
  • This refreshes the network handshake between devices.

Update Printer Network Settings

  • On the printer’s control panel, tap the Wireless icon.
  • Go to Settings → Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Select your new Wi‑Fi network from the list.
  • Enter the Wi‑Fi password carefully.
  • Confirm connection — the wireless light should turn solid blue.

Check for Printer Updates

  • On the printer’s control panel: Setup → Printer Maintenance → Update Printer.
  • Or use the HP App → Advanced Settings → Firmware Update.
  • Install updates and restart the printer.

Router Configuration

  • Ensure your printer connects to the 2.4 GHz band (HP printers often don’t support 5 GHz).
  • If your router broadcasts separate SSIDs for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, select the 2.4 GHz one.
  • Check firewall/security settings to ensure the printer is allowed to connect.
  • If WPA3 security is enabled, switch to WPA2 — many printers don’t support WPA3.

Use HP App

Reset Network Settings

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Network Setup → Restore Network Settings.
  • This clears old Wi‑Fi details.
  • Run the Wireless Setup Wizard again to connect fresh.

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi @Honestly698

Thank you for responding.

I understand that you would like to get the printer connected to the Wifi, I would request you to please connect the printer with 2.4GHz network. I would request you to please follow the steps:

Prepare for setup

  • Place the printer near your Wi‑Fi router.
  • Make sure your phone or computer is connected to the new Wi‑Fi network.
  • Turn on Bluetooth on your device.
  • On mobile devices, enable Location Services if prompted.

Reset the printer network settings
On HP Smart Tank 670, 720, 750, 6000, 7000, and 7300 series printers:

  • Press and hold the Information (I) button for 5 seconds until the control panel buttons light up.
  • Then press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds until the Wi‑Fi light blinks blue.
  1. Open HP App
  2. Add the printer
    • Select Add Printer or tap the plus (+) icon.
    • Choose your printer from the list.
    • Select Continue and follow the prompts to connect it to your new Wi‑Fi network.
  3. Finish setup

When setup completes, the printer returns to the HP Smart home screen and should be ready to print.

Have a good day.
