Hi, I loaded down the HP Easy Start full package from the Support Website and executed the install process on my wifes Win7 OS laptop in order to get her access to the network printer. I already have the printer connected and installed on my win10 OS laptop. The package installs on the Win7 Laptop then searches for the printer on the wireless local network LAN. It finds the correct printer and the IP address then tries to install or assign the driver. It fails with the network error. I try to install the driver manually but cannot find the correct driver. The Laptop tries to install the WSD port for the printer that only partially installs. When I try to print I hear a shot response from the printer, but it does not print. the Print job is deleted from the pool.
Is there some incompatibility between the printer and the laptops. Should I reset and just install the win7 laptop first?
I would have thought I would just need an IP address that everything would be fine. Does anyone have a win7 *.inf package that will install?

Hi @Traugott2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with installing drivers on windows 7 device for your Printer.
Request you to follow the below steps to fix the issue.
Unfortunately, the HP smart app is not available for your printer model.
Install the printer with Windows built-in driver.
You can refer to this document to install the printer and let me know if that resolves the issue.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!

Thanks for your response, but I had already discovered those points. Remember this in win7.
I did try to connect via TCP/IP and the address and printer is found, but windows asks for a printer driver and the driver for the 8122e is not listed or a path to a printer driver *.inf. In fact there are no 8120e series listed. Windows wants a driver and I have none to give it. HP is listed as a manufacturer but my models are not there. Where can I get a HP Print driver that will work for this printer and windows 7? Just basic print functions would suffice.

Windows responds with no build-in drivers available for the selected printer. Please supply a suitable windows driver for this printer. Windows update is activated but windows does not support win7. Please detail which windows driver is suitable (name, filename, location).

This response is not acceptable. You should be able to name and provide the location of the windows 7 driver that can support this printer. To date the responses have been nothing more than responses and not a real specific solution to the problem.
