My customer just bought an OfficeJet Pro 8022. They are in a shared office building, where everyone is on the same WiFi network. Because of security reasons, devices can't see each other on this network.
Therefore we installed his OfficeJet using WiFi Direct on Windows 10. According to HP, this is a fully supported scenario. This works without any problems, until the customer reboots his computer. I can reproduce that on my own computer as well. After a reboot, the printer is "offline" according to Windows, and the only thing we can do to get it back up and running is to remove the printer from Windows and reinstall it. Then we're immediately able to print again.
This is quite frustrating and sounds like a bug either in Windows or in HP's software. Does anyone have recommendations what we can do here?
I want to emphasize that we're using WiFi Direct, so the computer and the printer communicate with each other directly without any router in between. Though both the printer and computer are connected to the office network as well to be able to download updates etc.

Hi @DennisAm,
I'd like to help!
When you restart the computer the printer either connects back to wifi, you will go to wifi and just connect it to print again.
you do not have uninstall and install the printer again.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
