HP Deskjet 2710
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi HP Team & community

I'm trying to get WiFi direct set up from Windows 10 laptop and a HP Deskjet 2710

I have the WiFi Direct icon displayed on the small LCD panel of the Deskjet 2710, and the laptop is able to see the Deskjet 2710 when I ask it to  'add a printer or scanner' (it sees it as 'DIRECT-70-HP-Deskjet 2700 series')

I have a printout of the WiFi direct password ... but after many attempts, it refuses this password.

I have printed the WiFi password page out again, and it remains the same number. I have input the password quickly (within 90 seconds).
No other information is displayed on the small LCD screen at any time during this process.

Help please 🙂

Kind Regards

Brian

Hi All

I'm replying to my OWN question here, to give a potential solution to the problems I've had 🤔 ...

RIGHT ... I finally managed to get this printer connected to my 'home network', and from there you can open the 'Embedded Web Server' ... it's just a matter of typing in the printers unique web address from most modern web browsers.
From THERE, you can use the scanner without needing to install any 'other' proprietary HP software.

ALSO ... this works out to be a great solution for using the scanner with my 'other' Linux computer ... I can now scan from there too (yay 😀) using a web page 'front end' ...

If anyone would like further details, I'd be more than happy to help ?

Kind Regards

Brian
