HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One Printer

It recognizes the wireless network but will not connect. Under the settings on the report page it says No Filtering and it is a Fail.

@Coach2323, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your HP OfficeJet Pro 6830 recognizes the wireless network but won't connect — and the wireless test report shows "No Filtering: Fail" — that typically means the printer is being blocked from accessing the network, often due to MAC address filtering or router-level security settings.

Here's how to fix this:

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

Check Router MAC Filtering

  1. Log into your Wi-Fi router's settings page (usually by typing 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 in your browser).
  2. Look for MAC Filtering or Access Control.
  • If MAC filtering is enabled, your router will block any device not on the allowed list.
  • Disable MAC filtering, or add your printer’s MAC address to the allowed list.
  • You can find the printer’s MAC address on the Network Configuration Page.

Power Cycle Everything

  • Turn off the printer, router, and PC/phone.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Turn on the router first, then the printer, then your device.
  • Try connecting again.

Manually Reconnect the Printer

On the printer:

  • Go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the correct password carefully.

Printer Network Reset (if needed)

If all else fails:

  • On the printer, go to:
Setup > Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults
  • Then go back to Wireless Setup Wizard and try reconnecting.

🛠️ Additional Tips

  • Make sure your router is using 2.4GHz band.
  • Ensure your Wi-Fi password doesn’t have special characters that may confuse the printer.
  • Temporarily disable firewall/security settings on the router to test connection (just to isolate the issue).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
