Hi @katejade ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281cdw is indicating an issue with its wireless radio.

Here's what you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve minor issues. Turn off the printer, wait for a minute or two, and then turn it back on.
  • Check Wireless Settings: Ensure that the wireless settings on your printer are configured correctly. Check if the printer is connected to the correct network and that the Wi-Fi settings match your network configuration.
  • Reset Network Settings: You can try resetting the network settings on your printer. This usually involves navigating through the printer's menu to find the network settings and selecting an option to reset them.
  • Check Wireless Signal: Ensure that the printer is within the range of your wireless router and that there are no obstructions that could interfere with the wireless signal.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve connectivity issues. Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer and install them if necessary. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Check Router Settings: Ensure that your router is configured to allow the printer to connect wirelessly. Sometimes, router settings such as MAC address filtering or firewall settings can prevent devices from connecting.
