HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer

When I try to enter a new wi-fi name the functions (such as the Wireless Wizard Setup) says it has been locked by the person who setup the printer.  This is the first time I'm trying to change the wi-fi name; moved to a different state and internet carrier. How can I unlock these functions?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
To begin with, let's restore network defaults settings:

  • Following steps from this user guide: https://hp.care/2hM1Vuc Please refer to page 134 on how to do it. This should fix the issue.

If the issue persists, then please check your forum private message box for a message from me that gives steps to perform a semi-full reset on the printer that restores it to factory defaults.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you this was very helpful and did work. However, I don’t see the “Kudos” or “Thumbs up” button.

Again this was very helpful. I was able to setup the new wi-fi and print. Thank you. Don’t see a kudos or thumbs up button.
