Hi @Iris4585,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're trying to connect your HP wireless printer to your Wi-Fi network and encountering issues with the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) PIN. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and connect your printer.

Find the WPS PIN: The WPS PIN is usually located on a sticker at the back or bottom of your HP printer. It’s an 8-digit number.

Ensure Correct Input: When entering the WPS PIN, make sure you’re using the correct numbers. Sometimes, confusing characters like "I" and "1", or "O" and "0" can cause issues.

Use the Correct WPS Method: There are two methods for connecting via WPS:

  • Push Button (if supported by your router): Press the WPS button on your router, then within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your printer (often located on the control panel).
  • PIN Method: Enter the WPS PIN into your router’s configuration page. This is usually found in the router settings under the wireless or WPS section. Make sure to save the settings after entering the PIN.

Reset Printer and Router: If you’re still having trouble, try resetting both your printer and router. Sometimes a fresh start can resolve connectivity issues.

Check Compatibility: Ensure that your router supports WPS. Not all routers have this feature, especially newer models.

Alternative Setup Method: If WPS continues to be problematic, you can also set up the printer using the traditional Wi-Fi setup method where you manually select your network and enter the password directly on the printer’s control panel.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, let me know, and we can explore other troubleshooting options specific to your setup.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
