Hi @summer0655,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your iPhone 11 is not finding the HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 printer for wireless printing, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Ensure Both Devices Are on the Same Network:

  • Check that both your iPhone and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Sometimes devices may connect to different networks, causing connectivity issues.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your iPhone and the HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 printer. This can help refresh their network connections and resolve temporary glitches.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes updates can fix bugs and improve compatibility with mobile devices.

Check AirPrint Compatibility:

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 supports AirPrint, which allows printing directly from iOS devices without needing additional apps. Ensure AirPrint is enabled on the printer:
    • Go to the printer control panel or web interface.
    • Look for AirPrint or Wireless Direct settings and make sure they are turned on.

Check Printer Sharing Settings:

  • On the printer, ensure that printer sharing settings allow connections from your iPhone. This setting is usually found in the printer's web interface under network or wireless settings.

Reinstall Printer on iPhone:

  • Sometimes removing and re-adding the printer on your iPhone can resolve connectivity issues:
    • Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
    • Go to "Bluetooth & Wi-Fi" > "Wi-Fi" and ensure you are connected to the correct network.
    • Go to "Printers" or "Print & Scan".
    • Tap on the printer name and select "Forget This Printer", then reconnect by tapping "Add Printer".

Update iPhone Software:

  • Ensure your iPhone's iOS is up to date. Updates often include fixes for connectivity issues with printers.

Reset Network Settings (if necessary):

  • If none of the above steps work, you may try resetting network settings on your iPhone:
    • Go to Settings > General > Reset.
    • Choose "Reset Network Settings". This will reset Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN settings.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the connectivity issue between your iPhone 11 and the HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 printer for wireless printing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
