Hi @Marcia822

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're unable to print from your phone using Google Cloud Print on your HP Smart Tank printer, there are a few things you can try to resolve the issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the wireless printing issue:

1. Ensure Google Cloud Print is Set Up

Google Cloud Print has been deprecated as of December 2020, so it’s no longer an active service for printing directly through Google Cloud. However, you can still use other methods for wireless printing, such as Wi-Fi Direct, HP Smart App, or Apple AirPrint (for iOS devices).

If you're trying to use Google Cloud Print and it no longer works, you’ll need to switch to alternative methods.

2. Use HP Smart App (For Android and iOS)

The HP Smart App is the recommended way to print from your phone to your HP Smart Tank printer.

Install the HP Smart App:

  1. Download the HP Smart App from the Google Play Store (for Android) or the App Store (for iOS).
  2. Open the app and follow the setup instructions to connect your printer to the app.

Print from the HP Smart App:

  1. After the printer is connected, open the document or image you want to print.
  2. In the app, select the print icon and choose your HP Smart Tank Printer.
  3. Choose your print settings and hit Print.

3. Make Sure Printer is Connected to Wi-Fi

Ensure your HP Smart Tank Printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone.

Check Wi-Fi connection on Printer:

  1. On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Network > Wi-Fi settings.
  2. Ensure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. If not, reconnect it.

Wi-Fi Direct: If you’re not able to connect to the Wi-Fi network, you can use Wi-Fi Direct. This will allow you to print directly from your phone to the printer without needing a router.

  1. On the printer, go to Settings > Network > Wi-Fi Direct and turn it on.
  2. Connect your phone to the printer's Wi-Fi Direct network. The printer will broadcast its own Wi-Fi signal, and your phone can connect directly to it to print.

4. Use Apple AirPrint (for iPhone and iPad Users)

If you're using an iPhone or iPad, you can use AirPrint to wirelessly print to your HP Smart Tank printer.

  • Print Using AirPrint:
    1. Ensure both your iPhone/iPad and HP Smart Tank Printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
    2. Open the document or image you want to print.
    3. Tap the share icon (a box with an arrow) and choose Print.
    4. Select your HP Smart Tank Printer from the available printer list and tap Print.

5. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

If your phone still can’t connect to the printer, try resetting the printer’s Wi-Fi connection:

  • Reset Wi-Fi on Printer:
    1. On the printer, go to Setup > Network > Wireless Settings.
    2. Select Restore Network Defaults and confirm the reset.
    3. Follow the prompts to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

6. Update Printer Firmware

Sometimes, a firmware update can resolve connectivity issues:

  • Update Printer Firmware:
    1. Open the HP Smart App and select your printer.
    2. Check for firmware updates by going to the Printer Settings and following the prompts to update the firmware.
    3. After updating, try printing again

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
