Hi @Ray2019,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Setting up a wireless connection and scanning from an HP Envy 6055e printer typically involves the following steps.
- Unboxing and Initial Setup:
- Remove the printer from the box and remove all packaging materials.
- Plug in the power cable and turn on the printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set language, country/region, date, and time.
- Install Ink Cartridges:
- Lift the scanner lid to access the ink cartridge area.
- Install the provided ink cartridges into their respective slots. Ensure they are securely seated.
- Load Paper:
- Adjust the paper width guides in the input tray to fit the paper size you're using (e.g., letter, A4).
- Load the paper into the input tray, and slide the stack of paper until it stops.
- Connect to Wi-Fi:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the wireless settings or network setup.
- Choose your wireless network from the list of available networks.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password using the on-screen keyboard (if required).
- Wait for the printer to connect to the wireless network.
- Install Printer Software (Optional):
- You can install the full printer software on your computer to get access to all features. You can find the software on the HP website or use the installation CD that came with the printer.
- Scanning from HP Envy 6055e Printer:
- Lift the scanner lid and place the document or photo you want to scan face-down on the scanner glass.
- Close the scanner lid.
- Start the Scan from the Printer:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the scanning options.
- Choose the type of scan you want (e.g., black and white, color, PDF, JPEG).
- Select the resolution and other scan settings, if applicable.
- Start the scan process.
- Scan from Computer (using HP software):
- If you installed the full printer software on your computer, you can use the HP Smart or HP Scan software to initiate scans from your computer.
- Open the HP software and select the "Scan" option.
- Choose the scan settings and start the scan.
- Save the Scanned File:
- After the scan is complete, you can usually choose where to save the scanned file (e.g., on your computer or a connected USB drive).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
