HP OfficeJet 5255 All-in-One Printer

I've tried to reset my 5255 to reconnect to wifi, but I cannot. There is no blue wifi light, and I get a message that I need to subscribe to instant ink, even though my account it up to date. Help!

Hi @Rbuzan72 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Troubleshooting connectivity issues with your HP OfficeJet 5255 All-In-One Printer can be a multi-step process. Here are Troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the problem:

Check Wi-Fi Connection:

  • Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is working properly and that other devices can connect to it.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router.

Printer Placement:

  • Make sure the printer is within the range of your Wi-Fi network.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, wait for 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware may resolve compatibility issues.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • On the printer's control panel, navigate to the wireless or network settings.
  • Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the Wi-Fi password to reconnect.

Reset Network Settings:

  • On the printer's control panel, go to Settings > Wireless > Restore Network Defaults.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the network settings.
  • Set up the Wi-Fi connection again.

Check Instant Ink Subscription:

  • Log in to your Instant Ink account online and verify that your subscription is active and up-to-date.

Printer Software:

  • Make sure that your printer driver and software are installed correctly on your computer.
  • Consider reinstalling the printer driver.

Factory Reset:

  • As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. Keep in mind that this will erase all settings, including Wi-Fi configurations. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
