OfficeJet Pro 6970
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Pavilion running Windows 10 fails to connect to my OfficeJet Pro 6970 - I see the OfficeJet Pro 6970 DIRECT wifi and enter the correct pin but it times out trying. I am able to connect to the OfficeJet Pro 6970 no problem from my Android smart phone so I know I have the correct pin. Also can connect from an iphone.

Also, maybe related: the OfficeJet Pro 6970 is not able to connect to my Verizon wifi (which is why I'm trying the DIRECT connection).

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are unable to connect your computer to the printer's WiFi Direct?

Follow these steps to fix the issue.

Restore the printer to the original network settings

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch (            Setup).

2. Touch Network Setup.

3. Touch Restore Network Settings. A message appears stating that the network defaults will be restored.

4. Touch Yes.

5. Print the network configuration page and verify that the network settings have been reset

Turn on the WiFi direct

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then           touch (Wi-Fi   Direct).

2. Touch ( Settings ).

3. If the display shows that Wi-Fi Direct is off, touch Wi-Fi Direct and then switch it on.
