Won't stay connected; couple of years of...and giving up;lost my free 6 months of printing;waste of$

This HP printer doesn't like Chromebooks. My 5530-e worked fine with printing. It no longer scans or photocopies.

I think it may be time for a new printer. I've wasted so much time and money - unless you have some ideas. Please don't repeat HP's solution because they are not solutions, simply sources of frustration.

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Use Direct IP Printing via CUPS (No HP Smart)

On your Chromebook:

Go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers > Add Printer.

Choose “Add printer manually” and enter the IP address of the printer (you can find this on the printer’s network settings menu).

Scan to Email or Cloud (if scan-to-computer fails)

If scanning doesn’t work to Chromebook, try this workaround:

Set up Scan-to-Email or Scan-to-Cloud (Google Drive) directly from the printer.

Use the HP Smart setup (via iOS or Windows) to set up a Scan-to-Email profile.

Once it’s set, your printer can scan to email addresses or cloud locations independently.
