Microsoft Windows 11

I've been away for a few days and it seems my printer has gone crazy - and printed out a lot of the wireless quick start guide and printer information pages, I've tried disconnecting and turning off everything but it keeps printing them.

And it wont stop printing them, its printing several at a time between the documents im trying to print.

Its adding unnecessary pages to the instant ink limits i have and wasting ink
Any way to stop this?

Hi @freezuk ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your printer might be stuck in a loop or experiencing a technical issue causing it to continuously print those pages. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  • Cancel the Print Jobs: On your computer, open the print queue and cancel any pending print jobs related to the printer information pages.
  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the printer and resolve any temporary glitches.
  • Check Printer Settings: Ensure that there are no print jobs stuck in the printer's memory. You can usually access the printer settings through the control panel or the printer's web interface. Look for any options related to print jobs or pending documents and clear them if necessary.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Visit the HP website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Updating the firmware can sometimes fix bugs and improve the overall performance of the printer. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Reset the Printer: If the issue persists, you may need to perform a factory reset on your printer. Refer to the printer's manual or contact HP support for instructions on how to reset your specific model.
  • Check for Hardware Issues: Inspect the printer for any visible signs of hardware damage or obstructions that may be causing the problem. Make sure the paper tray is loaded correctly and that there are no paper jams.
