HP Smart Tank 7002 All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 11

I have tried unsuccessfully (on numerous occasions) to connect to my laptop. I can connect with a cable, but the computer cannot "see" the printer. I've reset the printer and used the ip address.

@OntheMarkProd, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand you're having trouble connecting your HP Smart Tank 7002 wirelessly to your Windows 11 laptop. Since USB works but wireless doesn't, let's walk through a few steps to get your printer connected over Wi-Fi.

Confirm Printer is Connected to Wi-Fi

  • On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
  • Ensure Wireless is turned ON.
  • Tap Wireless Setup Wizard and connect to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Once connected, print a Network Configuration Page to confirm IP address and connection status.

Use HP Smart App for Setup

HP Smart is the recommended way to connect your printer wirelessly.

  • Download HP Smart: HP Smart
  • Open the app and click “+ Add Printer”.
  • If your printer is on the same Wi-Fi, it should appear automatically.
  • If not, click “Set up a new printer” and follow the guided steps.

Manually Add Printer Using IP Address

If HP Smart doesn’t detect the printer, try adding it manually:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a Printer.
  • Click “The printer I want isn’t listed”.
  • Choose “Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname”.
  • Enter the IP address from the Network Configuration Page.
  • Select HP Smart Tank 7000 Series driver if prompted.

Check Firewall & Network Isolation

  • Ensure your laptop and printer are on the same Wi-Fi band.
  • Temporarily disable Windows Firewall or third-party antivirus to test.
  • Avoid using Guest networks or Wi-Fi isolation settings on your router.

Reset Network Settings (if needed)

If the issue persists, reset the printer’s network settings:

  • On the printer: Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
  • Reconnect using Wireless Setup Wizard and retry HP Smart setup.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
