Hi @JenniferJeannin,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Blinking blue and orange lights on an HP printer usually indicate a wireless connection issue combined with an error or attention state. Let’s fix this step by step:

1. Understand the Lights

  • Blue light blinking = Printer is in Wi-Fi setup mode or trying to connect.
  • Orange light blinking = There’s an error (like network failure, paper jam, or attention needed).

2. Reset Network Settings

  • On most HP printers, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel (X) buttons together for 5 seconds until the blue light starts blinking rapidly.
  • This restores Wi-Fi setup mode.

3. Reconnect Using HP App

4. Check Router & Network

  • Restart your router.
  • Ensure you’re using 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (many HP printers don’t support 5 GHz).

5. Clear Any Printer Errors

  • Check for paper jams, low ink, or open covers.
  • Resolve any warnings shown on the printer display or HP app.

6. Use WPS (Optional)

If your router supports WPS:

  • Press the WPS button on your router.
  • Within 2 minutes, press and hold the printer’s Wireless button until the blue light stops blinking and becomes solid.
