@daledwill, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy 5055 printer isn't connecting to your router, here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Restart All Devices
- Turn off your printer, router, and the device you're printing from.
- Wait 30 seconds, then turn them back on.
- Make sure your printer is not connected via USB, as this can block Wi-Fi setup.
Check Wireless Signal
- Ensure your printer is within 8 meters (26 feet) of your router.
- Look at the Wireless light on the printer:
- Solid blue = connected
- Off or blinking = not connected
Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi
Use the HP Smart app (recommended) or the printer's control panel:
- On the printer:
- Tap the Wireless icon or go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
- Choose Wireless Setup Wizard and select your Wi-Fi network.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password.
Check Router Settings
- Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz signal (HP Envy 5055 does not support 5 GHz).
- Avoid connecting to guest or public networks.
- If your router has separate SSIDs for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, connect to the 2.4 GHz one.
Reset Network Settings (if needed)
- On the printer, go to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
- Then retry the Wireless Setup Wizard.
Update Firmware
- Make sure your printer has the latest firmware: Official HP® Support

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
