Hi @sjb63,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble getting your HP Envy 6055e printer online. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to try to resolve the issue.

Check Physical Connections:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to a power source.
  • Verify that the USB or Ethernet cable (whichever you are using) is securely connected between the printer and your computer or network.

Power Cycle:

  • Turn off the printer, wait for about 10 seconds, and then turn it back on. This process can help resolve temporary communication issues.

Check Network Connection:

  • If you are using a wireless connection, make sure that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
  • Check if there are any issues with your Wi-Fi network, and ensure that the signal is strong enough for the printer.

Printer Status:

  • Check the printer's display or control panel for any error messages. Resolve any issues indicated on the display.

Restart Your Computer:

  • Sometimes, restarting your computer can help establish a connection with the printer.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Make sure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Visit the HP official website to download and install the latest drivers for your specific printer model.

Firewall and Antivirus:

  • Check if your firewall or antivirus software is blocking the communication between your computer and the printer. Temporarily disable them to see if it makes a difference.

Check Printer's IP Address:

  • If you're using a network connection, check the printer's IP address. You can usually find this information in the printer settings. Ensure that it matches the IP configuration on your computer.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • HP provides a tool called "HP Print and Scan Doctor" that can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Download and run this tool from the official HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
