Hi @areno53

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I am sorry for the frustration you are facing with your printers not connecting wirelessly after installing a new router. I understand how discouraging it feels when everything worked perfectly before and now, despite following instructions multiple times, the printers refuse to connect. I appreciate the effort you’ve already put in to try and resolve this.

Here are steps you can try to get your HP DeskJet 3772 and HP OfficeJet 3830 connected again:

Step 1: Reset Network Settings on the Printer

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Wireless or Network Settings.
  • Select “Restore Network Defaults.”
  • This clears the old router information so the printer can connect fresh.

Step 2: Reconnect Using the HP App

  • Install or open the HP App from the Microsoft Store (Windows) or App Store (mobile).
  • Sign in with your HP account.
  • Select “Set up a new printer” and follow the guided steps to connect to your new Wi‑Fi network.

Step 3: Confirm Router Settings

  • Ensure the router is broadcasting on 2.4 GHz, as many printers do not support 5 GHz.
  • If your router uses both bands, connect the printer to the 2.4 GHz SSID.

Step 4: Add Printer in Windows Settings

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Click “Add device” and select your printer once it appears.
  • If it shows multiple times, choose the one labeled with your Wi‑Fi SSID.

Step 5: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.
  • Click on the link below for instructions on how to update the firmware of your printer.

Step 6: Test with WPS (if supported)

  • On the router, press the WPS button.
  • On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button until the light blinks.
  • The printer should connect automatically to the router.

Step 7: Run Diagnose & Fix in HP App

  • In the HP App, select your printer.
  • Go to Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Run the scan to automatically detect and resolve connection issues.

These steps should help your printers reconnect to the new router and restore wireless printing.
